The Destruction of the Sisterhood, also known as The Day of the Fall, The Destruction Cycle, or just The Cycle, is a succession of tragic events regarding the untimely death of one of the Charmed Ones and the destruction of their sisterly bond. In every generation, when the Power of Three became too great for them to bear, it would eventually lead to the demise of one of the sisters, often through unnatural causes, meeting their end either through the weight of the Power of Three or being killed in battle. With the destruction of the sisterhood, the Power of Three would be lost until the next Charmed Ones were activated, and the cycle would start all over again.

Death of Prue Halliwell in the Original timeline

On May 17, 2001, the eldest sister of Piper and Phoebe Halliwell, Charmed One Prue Halliwell, was killed by the Source of All Evil's personal assassin, the demon Shax. Her death led to the discovery of a long-lost, half-sister Paige Matthews - a Charmed sister.
